SEABIRDS

Seabirds come in different sizes, shapes, and colors, but all of them have in common a close relationship with the marine environment.
As in many other animal groups, a large number of seabird species have disappeared in recent decades and many of them are currently in decline.

Endangered sea birds

This illustration includes extinct species such as the razorbill (Pinguinus impennis), others such as the taiko petrel (Pterodroma magentae) and the Galápagos albatross (Phoebastria irrorata) which is in critical condition, and finally the Audouin's gull (Ichthyaetus audouinii) which is classified as vulnerable but its populations continue to decline.
