T-SHIRT DESIGN

MONA foundation

I was in charge of creating the design of the new T-shirts for MONA Foundation, a rehabilitation center for abused chimpanzees and macaques that provides them a second chance to live free of pain and abuse. Girona, Spain.

The money raised with these T-shirts will help the MONA foundation to build their new center at much better location.

CORACIAS Project

The t-shirts were designed for the project Coracias, lead by the biologist Cristina Fernández. They monitor the populations of European roller in some areas of Catalonia, Spain. The illustration is a combination of graphite and color pencil. 2017

ILLUSTRATING FOR ANIMAL CONSERVATION

This is my publication 'Illustrating for animal conservation.

Recovery of dugong populations in the Andaman and Nicobar islands.'

It focuses on the creation of visuals that present diferent aspects about these fascinating and not so well known animals. Starting from their origins and their relation with other Sirenia, their skeletal anatomy and comparison with the manatee, and a study of the seagrasses they feed on.
Even though the thesis was very much centered on the problematic situation on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the purpose was also to bring awareness on protecting these beautiful animals in other parts of the world.

Dugong in its habitat

Dugongs feed only on some species of seagrasses that congregate forming what is called meadows. It is very common to find fish species associated with them such as Remora and golden trevally (Gnathanodon specious). The image represents a healthy meadow.
